What an unexpected and epic start to K.L. Savage’s addition to the Royal Bastards series. How it is all tied in with the author’s Ruthless Kings series was sheer perfection and once I started I could not put it down. It was raw, it was emotional, it was all kinds of things that I honestly cannot describe. Thrasher has a very tragic past that still haunts him to this day. PTSD is a rough topic to cover and Savage to me, did it justice. Those intense emotions that played out for not just him but also for Delilah. Their connection though. OH MY STARS! SO passionate and on another level but the way that they just clicked was just wow. I adored seeing more about Delilah and how she came to be. Especially seeing her side of how things happened to her.
Overall, this is an amazing story. One I could not put down once I started and I totally devoured it. It has amazing fluidity, great character build and so much more. The way that Savage has tied it into the Ruthless series was an amazing one. I do recommend reading the Ruthless Kings series though, especially the Ruthless Christmas as that is our introduction to Delilah. Just to grasp a better understanding of her and how she came into this world, though Thrasher can be read as a standalone.
