Oh my stars! This story is so raw, gritty and intense from start to finish. The whole concept behind Alaric watching over Layla and Zoey to how things all play out, mind-blowing with the intensity and passion within these pages! Layla is such a fighter, even with everything thrown at her, pushing her down, she claws her way back. She would do anything for her little sister Zoey even if that meant marrying a man she didn’t even know. Alaric is a complicated character. His job to say the least is the biggest thing, but how his emotions just bleed once he feels that connection with Layla. He cares deeply and she unlocks that within him. 

Between the concept, the way things all played out, I could not get enough. This book is hands down going to be one of my favorites of 2022 and I am so looking forward to what is to come with the next one in this series!

Can I just say, mind blown? The way that Hercules implemented the twists within this bully romance is something that was just everything. I loved the concept and how Alexis is such a spitfire. She gives as good as she gets and doesn't care at all about who she offends. Add Finn into her world and things get insane. There are so many epic twists in this story that I could not put it down. The complexity of it all, how things tie into each other was just wow. There are so many factors that come into play and lay the groundwork for what is to come within this series too. But Alexis and Finn, they are pure magic together. I have so many questions for the next book and I am dying to get my hands on it!

I have to admit, I think this is one of the crazier books within the Mason Creek series and that is saying a lot considering what has all gone down in this small two since book one. I hadn’t laughed so much at the misfortune of Charlie but also felt her pain as she trudges through first dates all over again. Who knew a sexy bartender would be her answer to everything. I loved Justin’s persistence in getting Charlie to date him. Even then, their dates were not unscathed. Even though the spice level is relatively low in this one, it honestly doesn’t need it. You get to see the quirks and craziness that comes with those first few weeks of a new relationship and I adored seeing where these two went.

There is so many layers of complexity that my mind is still spinning and needing answers. It is twistedly delish and I could not get enough. I honestly devoured this book once I started it.  I have so many questions concerning the Society as well. I adore the bite that Scarlett has but I also love that she does show her vulnerable side. Crew and Jagger hit those sweet notes but Neo, there is just something about him. Then you add the games and it is just so much to take in. I love the twists and the intrigue that is also an added layer to this story. I am here for it and I am dying to get my hands on the next book!

I had been excited to get my hands on this one and I was not disappointed. The sexy sizzle is every present like in all of Harrison’s books, but the complexity of this story was so much more different with the layers of suspense and intrigue wrapped with this story. I adored Layla and Cain’s connection as well. It was fire right from the start. As the story flows and delves deeper into the world that is Cain, things start to get twisted and you are dying to find out what is going to happen! I loved that Harrison gave us a thriller style book with that romance wrapped within. It was overall a great read!
