I had been intrigued by One-Eye since we first met him through Boomer’s books. His story is one of heartache, pain and so much more. What had happened to him growing up to how he became a Ruthless King under the old leadership to the man he is now under Boomer’s rule.His connection with Alicia was intense from the start when she first showed up. Even more is the connection that One-Eye has with her daughter. He felt that the father figure role was his from the start. My heart also ached for Alicia as she is trying to come to terms with her mental state when it comes to men. She loves One-Eye with all her being but she knows she needs to work on herself and I loved that aspect of this in the story.
In classic Savage fashion, we have intense moments, intriguing twists and turns that will keep you on your toes and that ultimate passion and love that is between the couple. This story gives you everything. The one thing I have come to adore about the books that Savage is giving us, is how much a person's mental health is so important too and the way they address it. It really seeps in deep to your soul that while these are rough and tumble men… they are also human and not always hard as a rock. I am still holding out hope for Saytr’s story though!
