What an epic twisty concept that Melissa Toppen has given us with Fire & Silk. I devoured this book once I started because I lived for the concept. It is raw and gritty with intense and epic passion. Mila is a fighter. Especially when she finds out her whole life is a lie. My heart ached for her so much as she waged a war in her mind. Then you have Mateo who feels things he shouldn’t for her but their connection is utterly magnetic. There are a lot of twists and turns with this story that will keep you on your toes and guessing what could happen next, but ultimately, it is finding love when you least expect it with someone you have no right to love. Overall, this was a great mafia story with intense moments, sizzling passion and raw emotions. It is a great read that I highly recommend.
