Going into this book, I knew it was going to be hard to read. Not because of the book itself but because of the author. More on that later. But what we get with Queen of Independence is a strong leading lady that you cannot help but adore Amelia. She is witty, fierce and ready to take on the world. But when threats are made, you get to see her vulnerable side as well. Then we have Liam who was initially hired to protect her but things get twisted up and he ends up hired by her. The slowish burn with the angst between these two just sizzle off the page and the whole concept behind this book is unique and very much the author, something I could not get enough of.
As a whole, this story takes you on a stunning ride that I could not put down and did not want to end. My heart ached while reading this one. The raw emotions I was feeling as I went through every page was so evident because we no longer have this brilliant author among us anymore. But her words will live forever. Her legacy will always be there. If you are a Karen Frances fan, you will want this book in your collection. If this is the first book by this author that you have picked up, please snag up and devour the backlist of this amazing lady.

Karen Frances was a much beloved member of our book community who fell ill and passed away last year.
At the time of her passing, she was in the final stages of completing this story. With the assistance of her editor and her husband, this novel was completed with much respect & love.
It is her husband's hope with the proceeds of this release, along with her backlist, to keep Karen's memory alive by creating the Karen Frances Literary Foundation in her honor to assist future authors realize their dream of publishing.
