My heart. After how the first book in this duet ended, I wasn’t sure how things would play out within The Resurrection of Wildflowers. What we get is a raw, heartbreaking, powerful story between Thayer and Salem. With everything that happened, six years had passed and things were all over the place. We know that Salem was pregnant at the end of the first book but with everything that happened between that time and when the second book in the duet, it is a lot to take in. The pain and emotions that are woven throughout these pages was stunning and Smelzter has a beautiful way of spinning them. It is hard to write this review because there are so many things that happen that would be classed as a spoiler. To me it is one of those books and duets as a whole you need to go into blind. It is messy, ugly and real. 

Overall, I found myself more connected to the second than the first of this duet but that first book led to so much more. Some are saying it should have been one book etc, but for me, no. It would have been too much to take in within one book. It needed that gap. It needed those words because there was so much to bring into this story that plays a major factor. I am hoping one day we get a story for a certain someone or at least a novella to see his HEA! You will know who I am talking about once you read this story!
