I have been dying to get my hands on Jacob’s story for some time now and what we are given is a raw and passionate story. Not just about a relationship but for the love of horses. You can really feel the author's joy and love for the animal bleed into these pages and I am living for it. Josie is a fighter. Right from the start, regardless of how scared she was being a teen mom, she fought to make life good for Everly. When things get rough for Everly, and they pack up to Josie’s aunt’s place, a chain of events change their course for life. But the determination and grit that Josie has is inspiring. Enter Jacob, who, while at times being a little bit of a jerk to Josie, just wants what is best for her and the horse rescue. These two verbally spare like it is foreplay and gives this book such an epic slow burn that is so combustible.

Overall, this is a great addition to the series and I am now dying to get my hands on Mason’s story because that boy is intriguing and a half! With that said, I adore the concept and the passion that Goodwin has woven within these pages about the horses and rescue as a whole.
