I think the one thing I really enjoyed about this story is how relatable True really is. Yes she comes from sports royalty per say but her emotions and feelings when everything is being thrown at her, I felt those too. But I adored the connection that she had with Mateo. There was just the right amount of mix between the present and how things played out between them in the past leading up to her finally telling him that she is pregnant. Mateo is one of those guys that every girl dreams of. He is absolute perfection when it comes to True. He rolls with the punches and is everything True needed.
Overall, this is one of my faves of this series. I loved the banter, the real feelings and so much more in it. It gives all the emotions, all the raw passion and so much more!

Oh my stars! Black Sunshine is something so purely magical and unique that I could not put it down. The concept, the backstory, all of it. Something so unique and spellbinding that this is very much be one of my top 5 reads of 2021. Lenore is your everyday college girl. Run of the mill. Nothing out of the ordinary. Though she never felt like she belonged. That and she felt like she was constantly being watched. Then she is taken by Absolon. These two are just wow. With every moment leading up to her turning, there is this underlying connection that the two of them have and it is scorching! Passionate and intense, he helps her navigate her new life. This love/hate thing they have going is so raw that you know that they are meant for each other regardless of how they fight it. With every twist and turn and changes that happen, these two hold their own as well as with the others of the house. The whole culmination of this book is just something I really cannot form adequate words for.
This is one of those books that will leave a mark on you. From Halle’s unique spin and take on vampire lore, which I LIVED for, to how the order of things in the story went between vampires, witches and more, I could not get enough. I did not want this book to end at all. I wanted more. Not just from Lenore and Solon but also more from Wolf and Ezra and so much more. Halle weaved such a brilliant story with a unique concept that will keep you on your toes and blow your mind. If you read one book this year, make it this one!
