With how the first book ended, I was so stoked that The Penitent was releasing so quickly afterwards because I needed more. I adored the first book and seeing how the second book played out, I am yet again in LOVE with these two authors and their devious and twisty little minds. Seeing the growth within Azrael for this book was intense and even though Willow fought him at times, with valid reasons, it was beautiful to see these two grow. With all the twisty goodness that we are given and the intense moments, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and this duet as a whole. Amazing read. All the feels.
