So, I usually shy away from books that have any religious or political overtones. Life is messy, I don’t want it in my books. BUT I couldn’t say no to this new one from Jewel E Ann. Not going to lie, it did take me a bit to get into it because of the tones involved but I can very much see how it all plays into how this story is going to turn out. I love the concept of Reese reconnecting with her mom because of things that happened in the past. I loved that Fisher started to make her question everything because of her upbringing. Their connection is intense right from the start and there is a LOT of push and pull in this story.
There is a level of complexity within these pages and while I struggled, it was worth it. I giggled, I swooned, I could feel those emotions radiate off the pages as Reese is trying to figure out up and down from left to right because of things that were instilled into her. With how it ended, I am looking forward to seeing how it all plays out.
