Checkmate: This is Effortless
OMG what a ride this duet has been! Between the passion that Courtney and Drew have and Mia F**KING Montgomery, I devoured this audio and wanted more! With every little thing that happens to Courtney and Drew, just solidifies their relationship! There were so many twists included with this one that I laughed, I wanted to scream and I was so emotionally involved! I really loved how this one picked up right after the first in the duet and flows amazingly. I love looking in on Travis and Viola as well. I giggled a lot when it came to those two. I think the one thing I really found amazing about this book is even though Mia is evil, she strengthens the relationship between Courtney and Drew. Even with some screw ups along the way, their bond is tighter! There is just something magical listening to these books in audio and I love every single moment of them. The depth it gives and those emotions are that much more intense. Langola is a great narrator and one of my faves! She did a brilliant job on this one!
Wrangling the Cowboy
GAH! This book in audio??? LOOOOVED IT!!! I adored this book before and now I am in love with it even more. The narration gives is so much more depth and I fell in love with Gavin even more! Holy SMOKES! Okay, I have been dying to get my hands on Maize’s story for some time now and let me tell you, Fox did not disappoint with this one. What we get is a push and pull story and a complete battle of wits between Gavin and Maize. I laughed at the antics and their push and pull. I swooned at how much Gavin really cared for Maize. I wanted to yell at Maize for being so stubborn when it came to Gavin. Honestly, I fell in love with these two even with the reservations of the age difference. They complimented each other so well that you just want to fan yourself at every sizzling moment. Maize is gun shy and I understand that completely but there are times you just want to smack her and say TAKE A CHANCE! I love that Gavin threw the ball in her court too after fighting for her so much. It gave so much depth to these two and how much they cared for each other in the long run. With a crash course on the Bishop family, Gavin fit right in as well. I loved having all the past characters in play as it gave this book such a warm feeling and you just want to cozy right in with them. Overall, I think this one is my favorite of the series. I mean, I ADORE Diesel, but there was just something about Gavin and the way he would sweet talk and make you melt like putty in his hand. Maize and Gavin are a perfect match, even if they both have to work for it!
Needing you Close
So, Tor Thom... NAILED IT! His voice just adds so much depth to Tyler and I am so in love with everything about the narration. It was smooth, easy to follow along and before I knew it, it was over. Now for the story review: Y’all… this second book of this duet… It BLEW MY MIND! If you have been a Kennedy Fox fan for a while, you will know they thrive on epic twists and unexpected moments. What I can say with Needing You Close is that it will literally blow you away! I adored how this one all played out between Tyler and Gemma. The push and pull? So swoony! The drama? Absolutely spot on for the fluidity of the story! Those moments that are jaw dropping? FLAWLESS! As this is book two of this duet, it picks up right after the first. I love getting immersed into the world even deeper as this story flows and you find out little tidbits here and there that will obviously lead into the other duets of this series. But Tyler?? I swear, he is like every girl's dream! Romantic, thoughtful, passionate and so protective no matter the circumstances with Gemma. But that spark in Gemma through this one is beyond epic. I may have a bit of a girl crush! The storyline of this one was so amazing. Honestly, I cannot come up with any word right now with how epic this one is. You have heart racing moments, tears flowing at times and so much more with this book. You get such a deeper understanding of why things happened, why things played out the way it did, plus some fun guest cameos that will make you grin ear to ear. As I have been a fan of Fox since the start, their words just get that much more amazing but I mean, they were from the start but I love how they pull out all these unique plot points! It keeps you fully engaged and guessing from the start! Needing You Close was an amazing story of love, redemption and walking away from the past. It will grip your heartstrings and have you all swoony like for Tyler. I am so looking forward to what is to come with the rest of this series!
