I was nervous about reading this story from Jesse’s perspective. While it was a huge trip down memory lane with Jesse and Ava, we also get more of the backstory from Jesse. Why he is the way he is and so much more. This story is just as intense as This Man, but seeing how Jesse ticks is icing on the cake. I think what I really enjoyed about this flip, unlike others, is you get more than just a rehash of what happened in This Man. We get more thoughts and emotions and all the behind the scenes moments that we were not privy to prior. Looking forward to the rest of the series from Jesse’s perspective.

Oh did this story take so many twists! I lived for Lily and how fierce she is. Regardless of being viewed as disabled, she fights tooth and nail and doesn’t back down. Even when the mafia is breathing down her neck. Who knew Alessandro would have such a heart. After briefly meeting him in Her Ruthless Warrior, I was very intrigued by him. What we get is something so raw and emotional with him that he hides behind a mask to not show his weakness. The connection that these two have and build is just stunning no matter the circumstances. I think these mafia men met their match when it came to Lily as well. 

There is a lot to unpack that happens within these pages and I really enjoyed it from start to finish. The build of the relationship, the backstory and other things that occur between them. How Alessandro lays his claim on Lily. Just everything. It was a stunning story.

Oh my heart. This one hits you right in the feels. I had a feeling Brayson was misunderstood but my heart hurt so much for him! Akridge hit it out of the park with this story. Chrissy has some baggage from past relationships and she always self sabotaged her self when it came to being with someone. But regardless of the history that had been perceived with Brayson, she felt this connection. Sometimes you have to follow your heart. She did and it was so beautiful to read. How protective Brayson is, how much Chrissy stood up for him. These two just made sense even if the others couldn’t see it at first. I do hope sometime down the road we will get a holiday story with them but overall, this series is magical and I loved every moment of it. Now is the time to binge!
