🥂 𝐁𝐋𝐔𝐑𝐁 🥂

My plans were simple: an island escape to relax before starting my new life in New York.

I didn’t plan on falling in love with a man who said he was just a bartender.

I didn’t plan on my White Isle vacation turning so dark.

And the bartender – it’s not just my heart he holds in his hands.

It’s my life.

This is the first book I have read by this author and it is totally one of those ones that sneak up on you. I felt it was a bit slow to start with but as the story progressed we delved deeper into the world that was created and showed so much depth into the descriptions of Ibiza and so much more. The chemistry between Jamie and Tommy was intense. Both from completely different backgrounds, but both on a level playing field when it comes to those feels. This is one of those magnetic stories that you fall in love with slowly and honestly, I could not get enough. I really enjoyed the flow, the build and so much more with this book!

Cover Reveal: Crooked Crows by Elena Lawson

Title: Crooked Crows
Series: Boys of Briar Hall #1
Author: Elena Lawson
Genre: Dark NA Contemporary Romance
Cover Design: Pretty in Ink Creations
Release Date: August 20, 2021

BLURB

Unapologetically f*cked up. Heartlessly cruel. Broken beyond repair.

Corvus, Rook, and Grey – The Crows.

Bred in a world of gang wars, violence, and secrets, they rule the bloody town of Thorn Valley and all the people in it…too bad for me I’ve never been good at kissing ass or keeping quiet.

Even if their savage spirits awaken something inside of me I thought was long dead, I can’t break. I won’t.

They think they scare me, that I’ll run and hide, but the joke’s on them. The Crows aren’t the first monsters I’ve faced, and they won’t be the last. There are worse evils out there waiting to take their stab at Ava Jade Mason.

I say let them try. I’m tired of running. Tired of holding back my darkness. Thorn Valley isn’t ready for a new boogie man. Too bad I’m already here.

Crooked Crows is a dark enemies-to-lovers reverse harem romance, meaning the main character will have more than one love interest.

Warning: This series contains foul language, explicit sexual content, graphic depictions of gang violence, and jealous/possessive themes. Recommended for readers aged eighteen and up. Please read responsibly.

CHAPTER ONE

Corvus

Randy’s body hadn’t begun to smell yet, and judging by the still-tacky smears of blood around the carving on his chest, I’d say he’d only been dead an hour. Maybe less.
You idiot,” I seethed, glaring at his prone form as I drew my blade, giving a short, sharp whistle to alert the others that we may not be alone.
Rook and Grey’s quiet footfalls sounded behind me as they jogged down the alley, slowing to a walk as they approached.
Rook cursed, rocking back on his heels when he saw the body half-laying, half-sitting against the side of a rusted green dumpster. He scrubbed a wide palm over his jaw. “The tip was legit.”
No shit.
A chick from the after-hours stocking crew at the Valley-Mart was the one who tipped off the Saints about the body. Damn near the whole town knew better than to call the cops first, and the ones who didn’t...they’d learn.
If there’s blood in the streets, you don’t want the useless rent-a-cops from Thorn Valley PD on the case. They don’t care about you. They won’t protect you. The Saints will.
I knelt to drag my red-stained fingertips over Randy’s eyelids and bowed my head. Grey crouched next to me, reaching two digits to the hollow beneath Randy’s chin, feeling for a pulse. As if someone this pale, this still could possibly be living.
His hand dropped not two seconds later, his head with it.
“I’ll call it in,” Grey said, dutifully drawing out his phone and rising from his crouch.
“Stay close,” I growled when he moved to walk away.
“He was supposed to be made a full member at the next meeting,” Rook mused aloud, biting on his lip ring. A habit he knew annoyed the absolute fuck out of me.
I stood, pushing off from my knees. “Not anymore,” I held out a hand for the bag slung over Rook’s shoulder. “Give me the tarp. Let’s get this shit over with. I need a fucking shower.”
Rook tossed me the bag and I pulled out the folded blue square, wincing when the sound of it crinkling echoed back to us from the tall brick walls of the alley. The whole place smelled like trash, but there was an undercurrent of something out of place, too. Cologne. Or just some really terrible aftershave. Like a pinecone got ass fucked by a lime. My nose wrinkled at the reek of it.
“Keep an eye out.”
Rook nodded, drawing his blade and hissing at Grey to get off the damned phone and help me.
“The carving,” Grey started as he ended the call, helping me lay out the tarp to roll the poor bastard’s body onto it, “It was the Aces?”
The letter ‘A’ brutally carved into the pale flesh of Randy’s chest would make anyone think so, but I wasn’t convinced.
“We haven’t had beef with the Iron Aces in months,” I hissed. “There’s no reason for this. Doesn’t make sense.”
“But the carving—”
“I know what it looks like, Winters.”
At that, both of my brothers fell silent and we wrapped Randy’s body tightly in the tarp, binding him like a fucking sausage with half a roll of duct tape.
He was only twenty-four. Didn’t have a family. No kids. Not even a girlfriend. Without any of those things, Randy would be given a whiskey-fueled farewell by the Thorn Valley Saints and then sent to a watery grave. It was the best many of us could hope for.
“Diesel’s orders are to bring him to the Crow’s Nest for now. Said he’d deal with it later,” Grey told me as we finished, and I stuffed the rest of the duct tape back into the bag and tossed it to Rook.
When I didn’t reply, still trying to work through the puzzle that was Randy’s mangled corpse, Rook stepped to my side. “Want me to bring the Rover ‘round?”
I nodded, jerking my chin for Grey to follow. “Go with him.”
At least it was a cool night for early October in Northern Cali. Hopefully, his corpse wouldn’t stink up the Rover too much before Diesel sent the cleaners to deal with it. Nothing worse than the smell of dead guy in the morning.
They turned to leave, but the roar of an engine coming to a stuttering, screeching stop at the mouth of the alley had me throwing an arm out to shield them, gun drawn, finger resting next to the trigger.
The sleek black sedan hadn’t even come to a full stop before a body jumped out of the backseat.
I took aim.
Air rushed from my lungs in a heavy exhale. I relaxed as I took in long legs, a mane of dark brown hair, and an ass so fine it made my cock twitch beneath my jeans.
“Move the body,” I hissed. Grey and Rook each took an end, pulling Randy with us into the shadows behind the trash bin and out of sight.
A driver exited the sedan as the girl pounded white-knuckled fists on its trunk. The bitch could hit. I’d be surprised if she hadn’t left at least one dent in the thing.
“Miss,” the driver pleaded. “Miss, the school is another mile uphill. Miss, please—”
“Open the fucking trunk,” she snapped back at him, her voice carrying. It was laced with warning and the pinhead driver must’ve sensed it because he lifted his hands in a placating gesture I knew well and retreated to the open driver’s side door to pop the trunk.
“Ava Jade,” came a woman’s willowy voice from the darkened backseat as a window rolled lazily down. “You get back in the car this instant.”
The girl, Ava Jade, I presumed, ignored the older woman’s plea, hauling a massive suitcase and satchel from the trunk. When the damn thing fell over, it nearly took her with it, but she righted the suitcase, and herself, and took off in a huff, lugging all of her things up the road.
“Ava Jade!”
The girl paused, an audible growl tearing from her lips as she spun. A dark simpering fury in the set of her jaw. “I’d rather be at some bullshit elitist academy than spend a single night at your fucking museum.”
She didn’t spare another second for the old woman. She turned on her heel and left, upper lip curled with distaste.
Both Grey and Rook craned their necks to get a better look and I suppressed a groan.
“Is that old-lady Humphrey?” Rook asked.
The bitch was rich; her dead husband came from old money. She lived in the big mansion over at Waverly Place all alone with, rumor had it, at least nine cats and a parrot that squawked all hours of the day and night.
“Looks like it,” Grey replied and I strained to hear the distant hum of more civilized conversation as the old bat instructed the driver to leave the girl and take her home for Christ’s sake.
The car drove off after a minute and we were left listening to the distant echo of the suitcase wheels bumping noisily over the pavement as the girl made her way down mainstreet and up towards Briar Hall.
Both the guys darted forward after the red glow of the sedan’s tail lights vanished, peering around the edge of the alley wall to get a better look at the chick.
“Should we…” Rook trailed off, a mischievous grin tipping up one corner of his lips, Randy forgotten for the moment.
“No.”
“The fucker who killed Randy could still be around,” Grey added. “We should at least warn her if not give her a ri—”
“I said no,” I repeated, leveling the full weight of my glare on them both. Rook was quick to shrug it off, but Grey, he still didn’t get it. He would though, even if I had to pound it into him.
I tucked my gun into the back of my waistband. “She isn’t our fucking problem.”
We weren’t about to go out of our way for some spoiled rich brat who was going to be in the nurse’s office all day tomorrow sobbing about all the blisters from her brand new heels. Not a fucking chance.
Grey stared after her a moment longer and I didn’t like the way his eyes followed her movements. Hell, even Rook still seemed bent out of shape that I wasn’t going to let him loose on her. Turning his lip ring round and round with his teeth, his dark eyes gleaming with malice even though he was clearly trying to play it off like he didn’t give a shit.
“There are finer asses than that in Thorn Valley,” I said to Grey, attempting another tactic. “In fact, I’m pretty sure you left one in your bed an hour ago.”
Grey tipped his head to one side, snorting a laugh.
We both knew I wasn’t wrong about that last part, but fuck if I didn’t know the first bit was total horseshit. I’d never seen a piece of ass that was worth wasting more than a night on. But that ass—that ass was trouble if I’d ever seen it.
It was in both of my brothers’ curious stares as they took one last look at her before turning back to me for orders. I was going to have to do something about this Ava Jade. Fast.
“Get the Rover,” I told them. “Looks like tomorrow we have a new student to welcome to Briar Hall.”

EXCERPT

We stare at each other for what feels like forever, and my nerves spike with every second that passes.
The way he looks at me makes me uncomfortable. It’s with an air of fascination that makes me wonder if it was he I lost my virginity to.
Annoyingly, the thought sends a shiver of arousal through me, and the weight pulls on my core.
There’s an attraction between us I don’t want to accept, especially after last night. And this morning.
Yet, as I stare at him, I can’t help but wonder how we would have met if my father didn’t know I knew him.
How close were we?
I have so many questions, ones I feel he won’t answer,
“Go on, Printsessa,” he urges with a cocky smile that should be as illegal as he is. “Ask me. I don’t want my bride’s head to explode with all those questions she has swirling around in there.”
Him calling me his bride makes me cringe.
“Why do you want to marry me? What sort of business benefit is there in marrying me?”
“Business benefit?” He inclines his head, and his hair drifts over his shoulder. The fading sunlight captures the lighter hints of brown in the dark mass of wild hair.
“You don’t love me, so don’t play with me. Tell me the truth. You’re marrying a woman who has no memories beyond the last two and a half years. I think I deserve some explanation.”
He looks like he’s considering it. When he sets his shoulders back, my hopes rise.
“You fit in with my plans,” he answers.
“What plans?”
“Those don’t concern you.”
“How don’t they concern me? You have access to my whole life. This is wrong. You know it is.”
“Right and wrong are shades of gray that people manipulate to take whatever form they want. This is mine.”
I shake my head. “I don’t want to marry you.”
“You don’t have a choice, and if I were you, I wouldn’t create problems. Your father wasn’t joking when he told you to do as you’re told. You need to. If you don’t create problems, you won’t have a problem with me.”
He touches my cheek, and my body instantly betrays me.
The memory of his face comes into my mind, along with a kiss—the one from last night and another from before. That was the one I dreamt about.
“Where do I know you from?”
“I told you, you shouldn’t try and remember me.”
“Why? You’re the only thing I remember,” I confess, and as the words leave my lips, I regret it. I don’t think I should have told him that.
“Is that so? How unfortunate for you.” He backs away.
“You said you wouldn’t hurt me.”
“I guess I must have lied.”

Can I just outright say that Sloane is my spirit animal? Her wit was beyond epic and one of a kind. I laughed so hard with her reactions to absolutely everything and I could not get enough. As soon as she bumped heads with Declan, the head of the Irish mob, insanity and hilarity ensued. Their push and pull with each other was beyond sizzling and epic foreplay for them. With every little twist and turn, I was kept on my toes and so much more with this story. I honestly devoured this book because it was intense and raw with so many emotions. Seeing Sloane open up the way she did to Declan’s cold heart breaking for her. It was utterly everything.

This is very much a series I am enjoying and I love how much it is interconnected with the first book. We get to see Nat and Kage and how they play into this story and so much more. Then that ending? OH MY STARS! Geissinger knows how to keep us fully engaged and begging for more and I am dying to see what will come next in this series!

Excerpt

We drive. He takes phone calls, one after another, speaking in Gaelic through each one. After maybe a dozen, he hangs up and turns to me.

“Don’t try to run. It’s safer for you with me than anywhere else right now.”

“Trust me, my feet hurt too much to…What do you mean, it’s safer with you?”

“Exactly what I said.”

We gaze at each other as the limo speeds through the night. Wherever we’re going, we’re going there fast. “So all that stuff you threatened me with on the plane—”

He interrupts, “What kind of guns have you handled?”

When I blink, he growls, “Answer the fucking question, please.”

Please. Astonished, I open my mouth, then close it again. My second attempt is successful. “. 357 Desert Eagle. Glock G19. AK-47.”

His brows lift. He’s surprised by the AK.

“Stavros had rifles lying all over the place. He liked to shoot at fish in the lake.”

“Of course he did. Fucking Russians.” He shakes his head in disgust, then leans down and pulls a small black pistol from a holder around his ankle.

He hands it to me.

“If we’re separated, use it on anyone who approaches you, even if they seem friendly. Even if it’s a little old lady, shoot that bitch between the eyes.”

I stare at him with my mouth hanging open and my eyes wide.

He sends me a mirthless smile.  “At last. Silence.”

I can’t form words. This psychotic blue-eyed gangster has rendered me speechless.

When I finally manage to regain control of my tongue, I say, “How do you know I’m not going to shoot you?”

“Are you?”

I consider it. “Maybe.”

“Decide. We don’t have much time.”

“You’re insane, is that it?”

“Believe me, lass, I sometimes wonder.”

Pulling a beefy silver semi-automatic handgun from his waistband at the small of his back, he continues. “Things are going to get bad. We’re going to take fire. The car is armored, but if the tires are compromised, we have about eighty kilometers before they die.”

He stops and looks at me. “That’s roughly fifty miles.”

I see. He doesn’t think I’m brain damaged, he thinks I’m just plain stupid.

“I don’t give a shit about the tires. Rewind to the part about things getting bad and start over. What the hell is going on?”

“I can’t tell you.”

“If you can hand me a loaded gun and tell me to shoot an old lady between the eyes, you can tell me what’s happening. We’re past the honeymoon stage. Besides, I can handle it, no matter how bad it is. Spill.”

I could swear that flash in his eyes is admiration, but it’s probably just an urge to wrap his hands around my neck and choke me.

And not in the good way.

“War is what’s happening, Tinker Bell,”he says ominously. “War and all the bloody business that goes along with it.”

“Oh, swell. You’re being cryptic. I just love an incomprehensible Irishman. They’re my absolute favorite.”

“Careful. You’ll exhaust yourself using your entire vocabulary all at once.”

“Can you tell from my tone how much I want to smash the butt of this gun into your face?”

“Can you tell from my face how much I want to smash the palm of my hand into your butt?

”“That was stupid.”

“Says the girl who jumped from a speeding car.”

“I would’ve jumped from a skyscraper if it meant I wouldn’t have to be near you.”

“If I’d known that, I would’ve taken you straight to the top of the Hancock Tower.”

I roll my eyes. “Just tell me the truth. I swear I won’t burst into tears. The last time that happened was before I’d even gotten my first period.”

He pauses, his gaze assessing. “Tell me how it’s possible that you’re not scared of me, or of this situation, or of anything else as far as I can see, and I’ll tell you what’s happening.”

I give it serious thought for a moment. “Honestly? I’m just badass like that.”

After a short, disbelieving silence, Declan starts to laugh.

It’s a deep, rich, sexy sound, beautifully masculine. I hate myself for liking it. And for noticing what nice white teeth he has. And how strong his jaw is. And is that a dimple in his cheek?

He stops laughing abruptly, looking as disturbed by the unexpected outburst as I am. Guess he wasn’t expecting that, either.

“Got that out of your system?”

Glowering, he says, “Aye.”

“Good. So who’s going to be shooting at us?”

“MS-13.”

More gangsters. I’m in up to my eyeballs. “Because…?”

“They don’t like me.”

I stare at him with my lower lip pinched between my teeth.

He says drily, “Thank you for showing restraint. It must be incredibly difficult.”

“You have no idea.”

“There’s another reason they’re after me.”

When he only sits there gazing at me in inscrutable silence, I prompt, “Anytime you feel like enlightening me, I’m all ears.”

“You.”

INCLUDING HARDBACKS

Holy roller coaster! I am in LOVE with who K.L. Savage paired Slingshot with! That connection that Natalia and Slingshot have is just sinful. For all the right and unfortunately wrong reasons. Their connection was completely magnetic and intense. I loved the banter they had. How much they encouraged each other and so much more. This one runs a complete gambit of emotions that will keep you on your toes the whole time. While these two are the forefront of the story and their romance is just absolutely everything, you get the side stories that are constantly playing through the books as well and some closure with some stuff that has been hanging over the club’s head. This is an amazing addition to the Ruthless Kings and I am so in love with these men! I cannot get enough!

EXCERPT

“Knives points to Benji. “We like you. What’s your name? What do you do? What’s your future like?”
“Knives, leave him alone.” Skirt groans. “He’s just a wee one.”
“He isn’t just ‘a wee one.’ He held his own. Who are you?” Knives asks, not sticking out his hand but running that damn ninja star across his knuckles like always.
“Benji,” my friend says. “Natalia, I’m so sorry about your eye. I shouldn’t have started anything. I didn’t like how he talked about you ladies.”
“No, you did good, kid,” Knives says. “You want something bigger, badder, and a bit messier, come prospect. We’re always looking for new blood.”
Benji rubs his jaw and nods. “Yeah, alright. Anything is better than going to the NFL to follow dad’s footsteps.”
Knives tosses his head back and laughs. “Ah, kid. You have no idea how many of us have fucking daddy issues.”
Slingshot comes outside, and he marches to me with powerful strides. The sun glints against his leather cut and his blue eyes; god, they hypnotize me. I don’t think he knows the power he exudes because he’s always holding it in. Without stopping, he wraps his hand around the back of my neck and bends me, dipping me over his knee as he kisses me, stealing my breath as his own.
A few catcalls sound out, and he pulls me up quickly, too quickly for me to piece together a single thought as his thumb brushes over my lips. “You didn’t go back to your seat. Good girls listen, don’t they?”
I nod and rub my thighs together when my clit begins to throb.
“Make it up to me by going out with me, right now.”
“Now? Right now?” I look around at my group of friends, and they’re all nodding.
“She’d love to go out.” Nora’s hand presses against my back, and she pushes me toward Slingshot.
“Well, there’s a bonfire tonight at the house,” Benji suggests. “If you want to come.”
“How about we meet you there? I want to change into something…better.”
Slingshot brings his soft lips to my ears. “Are you trying to tease me, Good Girl?”
I nod.
“Make sure you don’t wear panties, then. Text me the address.” He gives my behind a good squeeze as he leaves but then backtracks. “And be good while I’m gone, Natalia. You don’t want to know what happens when you misbehave.”
Oh, I do. I really do.
With hearts in my eyes and liquid heat between my thighs, I watch him mount his bike, which only leads me to think of all the ways he can mount me. The bikes grumble to life. The rumbles are deafening and shake the beverages on the table: the ice clinks together—the silverware trembles against the white tablecloth.
Slingshot does something I don’t expect him to do and reminds me how soft and tender his heart is.
He blows me a kiss in front of everyone without caring what others will think.
My knees are weak, and my brain is a complete fog as he pulls away.
“Oh my god, girl. You are so screwed,” Faye cheers before downing her drink.
“Nah, she’s about to be screwed. Right into a mattress!” Cora hollers and thrusts her hips into the air.
And then they begin to sing that damn song in The Sweetest Thing, and even Benji is cracking up laughing, but that’s not what makes it so bad.
Other people join in.
And I’ve never heard the word penis so much in my life.
I never want to watch that movie again.
Also, my friends need to come with a warning label. Society is never ready. I’m never ready.

K.L. Savage decided they were tired of looking for the kind of books they wanted to read. They had an itch that needed to be scratched, and as every girl knows, nothing scratches better than an alpha.

Blurb

When Ella Fitzgerald makes a pact with her best friend, she never expects he’ll be holding her to it twelve years later.

She’s not going to argue, though. She’s been half in love with Theo Townsend since they were kids. Not that he has any idea. She’s always kept her feelings for him buried, knowing if she told him, it could ruin their friendship forever. Theo meant every word of the pact he made with Ella all those years ago, but his life as a Major League Baseball player has taken him away from her and their friendship. It looks like he’s got it all: fame, fortune and a different woman on his arm every night. Looks can be deceiving though, and he finds himself comparing every woman he meets to Ella, leaving her never far from his thoughts or his heart.

When the pact brings them back together, it isn’t long before sparks fly. With their lives at polar opposites, are sparks enough to keep the flames of love alive, or will their love be extinguished before it’s even had a chance to start?

This is one of those stories that will hit you with the feels and the swoon factor as friends become so much more. When Ella had a rough night at prom and Theo saved the day, they made a pact that when she turned 28 they would meet in Paris and they would get married if they were both single. Through a series of events and honestly not expecting Theo to show as they lost contact over the years, Ella still hits Paris and waits. But what ensues is Theo showing up, an epic time together, feelings explained and so much more. It was sweet and raw and passionate. I fell in love with these two from the start! Then everything else that gets twisted up is intense to say the least. Farr wove an amazing friends to lovers story with some drama and twists that will keep you on your toes and honestly, not wanting it to end! I couldn’t get enough!
